Follow These 5 Easy Steps to Become a Resident:

Step 1:

Students who have been admitted to CSU Channel Islands must accept their offer of provisional admission by the deadline. Visit the admitted student webpages for instructions:

• Freshmen
• Transfers

Step 2:

Submit your On-Campus Housing Application via by the priority deadline. There is a $50 non-refundable fee to submit your application and a deposit is required, unless you are eligible for deferment of the deposit.Ìý

• Please note that the Housing application fee and the Housing deposit CANNOT be paid directly on the student account electronically or by sending a check to Student Business Services - these two payments must ALWAYS be made IN the housing application. All future payments are made via the myCI student account.

  • Returning CI students from the Academic Year 2023.2024; spring 2024 and haveÌýa completed FASFA (financial aid application) on file with the Financial Aid officeÌý for the Academic Year 2023.2024 or Spring 2024, and who have an Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) for the FASFA term of $6,000 or less (i.e. Academic Year 2023.2024 or Spring 2024), OR
  • New Incoming CI Students and have completed a FAFSA (financial aid application) for the Academic Year 2024-2025 on or before the priority filing deadline listed on the financial aid website, AND are eligible to defer the Orientation fee through the Cal State Apply application based on the licensee’s Student Aid Index (SAI).
  • For both student populations, satisfyÌýallÌýdocumentÌýverificationÌýrequirementsÌýwithÌýtheÌýFinancialÌýAidÌý&ÌýScholarshipsÌýofficeÌýbyÌýJulyÌý1,Ìý2024ÌýforÌýtheÌýfallÌýsemester,Ìýand OctoberÌý15,Ìý2024ÌýforÌýspringÌýsemesterÌýare eligibleÌýto deferÌýthe HousingÌýdeposit.ÌýDocumentsÌýsubmittedÌýfor verification mustÌýbeÌýcomplete,Ìýlegible, andÌýacceptedÌýbyÌýtheÌýFinancialÌýAidÌý&ÌýScholarships office.

Applications received after the priority housing deadline may be placed on a waiting list and accommodated on a space-available basis.ÌýPriority for room assignment is determined by lottery for all students who meet the priority application deadline. Students applying after the priority deadline will be placed on a waiting list and will be assigned after all students who met the priority deadline have been accommodated.

• Select the Fall/Spring Housing Application.
• 
• Select the term you are applying for under Term Selector: Academic Year, or select theÌý Term Selector: Spring then Save & Continue
• Submit your application payment, housing application, and deposit by the deadline to secure on-campus housing!

Admitted students interested in participating in a Living-Learning Community should complete the Joining the Pod Survey.

Step 3:

Return a hard copy of your signed Housing License Agreement Signature Page, & Minor Medical Consent Form (, 102KB), if you are less than 18 years of age.

Step 4:

Make all scheduled payments.

Timely submission of all housing payments is necessary regardless of whether the funding comes via financial aid or private funds. Whether you anticipate receiving financial aid or not, you’ll want to be sure to submit all housing payments by our designated due dates to ensure your housing accommodation needs are met. Making subsequent payments on time is also essential to retaining your housing eligibility.
