Café Bar, CAPO Lounge in Mansfield’s town centre, have been supporting °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¸ßÊÖ Charity over the last few months by hosting various fundraising evenings and a chef visited the college as a guest speaker in a hospitality and catering lesson.
Back in April, CAPO Lounge and °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¸ßÊÖ first joined forces with a fundraising quiz, over 10 teams answered questions over 4 rounds battling for the top spot! The night proved to be a huge success leaving customers wanting another °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¸ßÊÖ College and CAPO Lounge collaboration.Â
Mel, chef at CAPO Lounge, visited °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¸ßÊÖ in May as a guest speaker to talk to our catering learners about what it’s like working as a chef in a busy high-street restaurant. Mel said: “I wanted to share my experiences and encourage other young people to kickstart their career in hospitality. I’m really passionate about cooking and I want to spread the word about what cooking means to me”.Â
Last week, CAPO Lounge and °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¸ßÊÖ once again came together for another fundraising evening, this time in the form of a Charity Bingo Night, all to raise money towards an electric minibus for the college. 40 people battled out for various prizes throughout the evening including; a voucher for Fat Nate’s burgers of 12 weeks’ free burgers and fries for the main lucky winner, cocktails, coffee and cake and even a big box of tea bags! Thanks to CAPO Lounge’s support, they have helped us raise £764 in funds and donations of products.
We look forward to working alongside them in the future and would like to thank for them for allowing us to have a presence in the community of Mansfield.
