Laws and regulations mandate many types of training regarding hazardous materials use, pollution prevention and occupational safety. The type of information you are required to know varies depending on your job. Your supervisor, the office of the Dean, or the office of Environment Health & Safety (EHS) can tell you what types of training are required.

Online Environmental Health & Safety Training
Self-administered EHS courses are available from any campus computer through the new CSU training site
In-person training
Many types of EH&S training can be provided 鈥渓ive鈥 by EH&S and other campus staff. Contact the office of the Dean of Arts & Sciences at x3517, for arrangements.
Arts & Sciences Faculty & Staff Trainings
ONE TIME Training: (unless job scope changes or regulatory need changes)
- Hazardous Waste Training - Cal OSHA (for Instructional faculty)
- EXCEPTION: PI鈥檚 and technical staff required every year ()

ANNUAL Training: Required for effected faculty/staff

- Biosafety Level 2 training: work with blood or body fluids (human or primate), blood borne pathogens, or other potentially infectious material and/or Risk Group 2: Contact A&S at x3517.
- Animal Care and Use as per IACUC: Contact A&S at x3517.
EVERY 3 YEARS: All applicable Arts & Science faculty
